Some things people are saying about WEIGHT:

"Witty and clever with a hard look at the balance of being an independent feminist professional and the things women want and need that may clash with our hard exterior ideals. The book doesn't shy away from sensitive issues but does so with a bite that keeps the reader engaged. Great debut!" Jessica Dainty, author of

"This book is a delightfully improbable mash-up of a romantic comedy, a feminist treatise, and an illness/addiction narrative. Sara, a professor and groupie of Seth, her student-turned-rock star, is refreshingly carnal in her appetites, and despite all the discussion of gender roles and role-reversals, the point, I think, at the heart of it all is an immaculate love story about a rogue teacher and a prodigious musician is, despite all the posturing, just a love story: simple, affectionate, human. As author, Jackson-Pomeroy is coyly smart, embedding sophistication between the lines of an otherwise straightforward book. It’s rare to find books that are both page-turners and intellectual – readers will finds themselves wooed by the story, and will come out on the other side satisfied and enlightened. Highly recommended." J.C. Hallman, author of Say Anarcha
"Weight of a Woman" provides a candid look into the life of an academic caught between personal desires and professional responsibilities. Sara's journey is a stark reminder of the challenges educators face beyond the classroom. It's a story that invites empathy and reflection. Enjoyed it." C. Henry Roi, author of With Her Fists
